    hey everyone,

i am a US citizen who married my Scottish fiancee on August 5th and am now in the process of gathering all the necessary documents to make my spouse visa application.

After looking over the application i had a couple question i'm hoping someone could help me with:

    1. i worked in scotland for 6 months on the bunac program during which i had applied for a UK work permit and was rejected. Now on the application it asks if i have applied for a UK visa before, now is a work permit the same as a visa?

    2. when i get to scotland we are intending to stay with his parents until we can get a flat, there is a section on the application where you have to put how many bedrooms there are and how many people. Currently there are 4 bedrooms and 5 people living there including my husband. He and i would share his bedroom and I am just wondering if anyone thinks this would cause problems for my application and if so how i can rectify that?

    Thanks for any help

NUmber 2 shouldn't be a problem, as obviously man and wife will sleep together in one room, so the number of rooms versus number of people living is not an issue.

Number 1, not so sure on this, but logic would tell me it might be considered a visa, just like a H-1 visa in the US. Were the rejection reasons severe? If not, then you can mention in the pp (if there's space provided) why the rejection. I'll have the other moderators reply on this if they know more.

Triple H, any input on this?

no the reasons for the rejection weren't severe just pretty generic, they sent a letter saying the reason i was refused was because they didn't feel that the job and the salary i was in required the degree i had so the position could be filled by someone without a degree in the UK. my official job title when i was working was a specialized sugar decorator so i think they weren't sure what that really meant therefore they refused me.
