Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am a British Citizen living in the UK, and I want to bring my Chinese Fiancee, who lives in Henan province back to the UK, on a fiancee visa so we can marry and live together, she will be appyling to Beijing for a VAF2 settlement visa, as I am her fiance and sponsor, what documents will I have to provide to support her application, I gather she may need my birth certificate, bank statements wage slips, evidence that we have met, which we have, photo copy of passport, evidence that we have continued to comminicate and some other things, What would these other things that I would require to send to support her application, would I need to provide proof we intend to marry, if so what. and what would be the best way to send these important documents to her in China, could I scan them and send them to her by email, would that be acceptable. Also if the paperwork was all in order how long would it take for Beijing to process her application A lot of questions I know but I would be grateful for any help anyone can provide me with, is it me or is this visa process more straight forward, than it seems. Anyway thanks in advance.

    Pete.

Get married in China. It's easier. You don't have to provide specific proof that you intend to marry, beyond that which proves that you have met your wife and that the relationship is genuine. The documentation requirements for a fiancée visa and for a spouse's visa are identical. Read my experience here: http://www.easyexpat.com/forums/ftopic_7555.htm

All documentation needs to be originals. Scans won't be accepted.

    Good luck!
