If all the websites for lets in London say they are for 6 months or longer, why are the rental prices only given per week? If one was looking for a furnished rental in London for 1-2 years, do you have to pay the weekly rate times four or is it possible to secure a more reasonable monthly rate?

Are the "Loot" and Net-Lettings on the Internet the two best sources for rental properties? Are there any agents who have access to all rentals regardless of the agency or do you have to go agency to agency to search for rentals? I guess I'm trying to find out if there is a central source of rentals like a Multiple Listing Service for one-stop shopping.

Also, since visitor visas are only for six months, is it OK to just leave the country for the weekend and re-enter to qualify for another six month visa?
