    Hi,

I am permanent resident of UK from Malaysia and have been living here for over 15 years. I want to marry my fiancee who is a non EU resident. What do I have to do? Please advise. Thanks.

What you need to do is apply for a fiance visa for your fiance. They will then be allowed to spend up to 6 months before the wedding in the UK. You will have to provide proof of your relationship and also of your upcoming wedding.

Once you have got married you then need to go and get the next visa, which allows your partner to work in the UK for the next two years but no access to public funds

After two years you'll be able to apply for your partner to have indefiente leave to remain/ settlement (SET (M)).

Its a long process but worth it at the end of it all, I have just been through it all with my husband- any questions please don't hesitate to contact me on rebecca.bettencourt@hilton.com
