    Hi,
I have a simple question which I cannot seem to find an answer for anywhere. My partner is British and I have a 2year limited leave to remain visa (as an unmarried partner). Next year I will apply for indefinite leave to remain. However we were talking about getting married before then. I know we would have to apply for 'permisson' from the Home Office if we were to marry in the UK, but what about if we got married abroad? Would I still need to apply to the Home Office or advise them afterwards of the change in status? How would our marriage affect my application for permanent residence next year? Can someone out there help?

If you get marry abroad you would not need to tell them till you actuall come back to UK.
You can apply next year with all the relevant paper work to get your indefinete leave to remain.
I can not see any problem arising.
