HI Everyone!

I am an American planning to get married in September to my UK fiance. He lives there now, and will be coming in for the wedding with his family. Then we are planning to move there together. Problem is, we need to get back right away, as he'll have his little son with him. We would really like to go back together, but it sounds like we need to process my spousal visa here. I understand that if one gets an appointment at the LA consolate, we can process things faster. So we are thinking of having an official courthouse wedding in order to get the certificate, run up to consolate, hopefully have it processed..then go ahead with ceremony with friends and family, so that we can leave the day after the wedding a week or so later. Any idea if this will work? Or am I cutting the timing too short? Also, how much will the visa cost if we do them this way?

I have picked up most of my information from this site, but I want to make sure I understand things for our specific circumstances. As you know, its a tad confusing.('') I'd appreciate some more direction! Thank you!
