hi, i am planning to move to barcelona in the beginning of march and am badly in need of some guidance. basic sketch of me: i am young, somewhat writerly, like good cafes and restaurants. which neighborhoods would you recommend? could someonle pls give me a quick run down of their different characters? (To give you an idea, I was living in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, if that means anything to anyone.)

also, what's a roughly avg price for a nice room in a nice apt, monthly? last question: anyone know anything abt teaching english (non-eu citizen)? difficulty getting job, avg pay per hour, websites, good school to apply to, etc?

any and all related info would be wonderful.

    thanks so much, sarah.

    Hey!
The best place to live without a car or a motorbike is any place in the Eixample. You could make about 10 euros per hour doing english classes, is not too dificult for you getting a job like this. You can get a nice room for 300 euros more or less. I´m from Barcelona, if you want a conversation exchange partner here I am.

    Hi Sarah,

if you want to live the Barcelona Nightlife, going to nice bars, restaurants, clubs- you should visit the famous street La Rambla and its sidestreets. Here Barcelona never sleeps. Several good dance clubs offer all kinds of music styles and relatively cheap long drinks.

If you want to stay in a shared flat you should check out the page www.loquo.com Many students post interesting offers. If you need further information about Barcelona, check out the free city guide of http://www.barcelonapoint.com/en/guide.html

I hope I could help you...
