I'm a British/French citizen and I want to fly over to marry my US boyfriend in the States. I don't want to settle there, in fact we want to file for an EEC1 visa t bring him back to Britain. Do I need to get a visa in order to go over there, get married, and return?

You don't need a visa to get married in the US if you do not want to settle there.
You will need to fill the form EEC1 once you come back. For more information you can ask your questions in the forum for Immigration in Europe.

Thank you so much - at last a clear cut reply! I just couldn't find anything on the web because all the sites presume that if you're going over there to get married, you necessarily want to settle there.

My british boy friend and I are planning on getting married. However neither of us are clear on what we need to do to make this happen, ie:rules/laws on the matter.
We will be living here in the US.
If anyone can help with some clear information it would be greatly appreciated.
