I've just had a look at that site and it looks like a bit of a swizz to me! Most of the events cost at least £5 and I can't see what you get for that. London life is expensive enough, why pay for nothing?!

Why don't you try www.meetup.com or www.meetin.org ? I go to the meet up groups in Paris and they are definitely free
