    Anyone have any idea, for a UK citizen (my husband) who just moved to Spain last month, how long the process takes for him to become a resident? And get proof of it so he can forward it to me in America so I can apply for Schengen Visa to rejoin him?

    We've already been apart for 4 months, just wondering how much longer this will all last.

    Should I just go on a tourist visa and forget about the Schengen?

    Thanks for any help.

    I would suggest that your husband goes to the British consulate / embassy and ask for a certificate of residency.
    I assume that they will ask him for quite a few documents, but this must be the easiest and quickest way.

    However, they may deliver such certificate after six months residency only, this I do not know.

    My husband and I have applied for residencia and from the application we are to wait 4 weeks then we go back to the authority have finger prints taken wait another four weeks pay the tax and hopfuly receive residencia.
