My experience of the emigration process

Postby ribtickle » Mon Jan 19, 2009 4:00 pm

Hi there, I've just set up my own website that talks through my experience over the past few years as I have progressed with my skilled worker application.

I have talked through some of my reasoning and explaining not just the process but the why's and where's of the decision making process.

Please have a look and take time to comment

Hi Rich and welcome to Canada!

I live in Montreal and find it fascinating that someone from the UK would want to move here. I live in Montreal though.

So many people I know here are dying to move to London, UK that I can't imagine someone from there wanting to come here!!! The -30C winters here, snowstorms...I'd MUCH rather live in London or Amsterdam!

What are your thoughts on the EU versus Canada?

Hi Mark and thanks for the welcome. I'm not yet in Canada but should be relocating later this summer!

Why Canada - quality of life, multicultural acceptance, proper seasons not rain all the time, appreciation of being able to self develop without being frowned upon for bettering yourself. Valuing diversity and lower crime, better health.

I could go on. I would never recommend the UK to anyone, and you would need a small mortgage to live in London for a week.

Rich

It's always a long process before getting an immigration visa.

As a student in Paris, I spent the last year in Montreal for a student exchange and, as you want to move there, you could take a look at one of my articles on this amazing city: http://beta.gullivearth.com/en/guide/re ... n-montreal.
