My girl friend and I want to travel to Europe from Russia - I am English she is Russian. Her new Shengen Visa is issued by the Italian Embassy but we want to make our point of entry in to Europe as Germany. We want to do this because our 2nd port of call will be Prague, then Vienna and then Venice. My question is do we have to visit the host country first? Do we for example have to fly in to Italy and then start our tour?

    Appreicate any input

    Thks

    Hello,

A Schengen Visa allows its holder to enter the Schengen area via any of the 15 countries of this area.

However entering via a country that is different to the one that has issued the visa may incite the border authorities of the country of entry to ask questions as to why the traveller is doing so.

    Regards.
