Hello my son is moving from dubai to istanbul. He has a belgian permanent drivers license and a U.A.E. drivers license . Is this OK for Turkye ?
If your driver's license is from a major country, you are normally ok to drive in a foreign country for a period of time. Eventually, they will be required to get a Turkish license (B is car, van or small truck license). The Turkish site concerning licenses can be found here: http://www.modasurucu.com/. Anyone have personal experience?
I have found that you can drive with a foreign driving licence for as long as it is valid, but you must have a copy translated & notarised & keep with you in addition to your actual licence when driving.
Thanks for the personal tip killer_cain! How are you finding Istanbul? Have you been there long? I only visited for a few days, but I loved the city. I would love to see more of Turkey.
No worries! I've been here over 2 years now, nice place, but very busy! You need more than a few days to see what all it's got! But I haven't travelled so much here, always working, but I'm going Bodrum for a few days next week, with a trip to the Greek islands! How do you find Germany? Have you just lived in Berlin?
Very cool. Must get back to Turkey! Enjoy your vacation. Yes, just in Berlin. We're so crazy, we have expatriated twice to this wild city! It is a fabulous place and we really enjoy living here. However, it would be interesting to live elsewhere. Maybe someday...
Come when the weather is warm, it's pretty miserable in winter! but when it snows it's beautiful too, I think the travel bug is biting you!
