I wonder whether any of you have any experience with the way "out-of-turn" processing of EEA2-applications are handled if there is a medical emergency?
We informed the HO of such an emergency in the family two weeks ago and have since then not heard from them. Luckily, the emergency isn't of a nature that requires a visit within a day or two, but any day that passes could mean that we will be too late.
Unfortunately, it has not been possible to find out whether they are even considering doing anything at all. The person on the phone claimed he could not find out whether my wife's application was with a caseworker or not - and he also said that if *he* couldn't find out, I would be even less able to find out. The only way to find out is to receive a "decision". Very helpful, thank you!
The reason I'm wondering whether they will do anything at all is because the emergency is on my side of the family - although my wife has close links to the person concerned.
I'm aware that the HO-website says that we should allow 4 weeks for the return of the passport - but I'd be glad if I could find out a bit more than that...
(Incidentally, why don't they take 4 weeks or less to deal with a normal application? But I guess that's an old discussion - so I won't start that one again...
