hi all.. im new to the forum, and over the last 12 years, ive made frequent trips to europe, with the majority of those visits to france and spain.

i'm trying to figure out how to go about living here, legally. work visa vs student visa vs retirement visa, or whatever.

im a tattooer by trade, and ive developed a considerable clientelle abroad. i work by appointment only, and i have generally do not take new clients unless by referral, so i dont think i'd be a burden on the economy.

i can make as much or as little money as i need to, or want to, depending on how often i feel like working.

in addition to income from tattooing, i also own a tattoo supply company thats based in the states, and i've been supplying distributors in spain, germany, the UK, the netherlands, asia, and australia for several years. part of my reasoning for moving here is to set up manufacturing in europe, to avoid having to ship so much material from the states.


what would be the best way to go about moving my family here? im in madrid with my wife, our two children, aged 1 and 4, and our nanny, who relocated with us.

thus far, we've signed a year lease on a house and ive opened a bank account

also, whats the deal with leasing a car in spain? is it something i can do? one of my distributors here in spain has agreed to be my guarantor..
