Hello! I’m a Spanish girl of 23. I’ve received an offer of a Belfium family for 9 months as an au-pair. It will be a trial period of one month.
I would like to know if I need an employment authorization and an Au Pair work permit B. In my situation, when I have to get it, after the trial period? Could I have problems if i stay there without an authorization?
Could you help me?
Thank you very much.

See our section on
au pair in Brussels .
Therefore, as a EU citizen, you don't need any work permit as you have the right to work in any member state..

If you are a citizen of the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right to start working as soon as you arrive in Belgium (there is no need to have a work permit). However you must register at the communal administration from you residence within 8 days. For the 10 new members of the EU, a transitional period of 2 years is applied in Belgium. You must get a B permit to be able to work.
