Getting a bank account & flat, which one first??

Postby alan » Tue Aug 12, 2003 6:44 am

I'm moving to London to start a new job this month, but I'm worried about being caught in a catch-22 situation.

I need a bank account, but probably need an address to get one. But I can't get an address (a flat) unless I have a bank account with money in it for rent. Also, I can't get a NINumber or anything without a current address and proof of address.

Any tips on how to get started with all of this?

Thanks!

Hi,
Where do you come from? You probably had a bank account in your previous location that you can use temporarly.
I would suggest at the beginning to look for B&B and Flat sharing (addresses in our London/Accommodation section). They are more flexible and usually won't ask for bank account details - as long as you can prove that you can pay in some respect. Then when you can give an address, you can open a bank account (often need a work contract also - some banks might be difficult).
With all of that you can then get you NI... :AieAieAie!:
Good luck

Political Stickers and the Such

Postby politicaldavethearmy » Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:04 am

Hello peeps,

Were the political cartoons published by the Danish Press violations of the Islamic religion or were they exercising thier constitutional freedoms (freedom of the press)?

What about this current war going on? What are your opinions?

-David

If you are looking for political stickers or just something amusing to put on the back of your car I recommend :arrow:http://www.cafepress.com/buy/politics?pid=6010129
