Hi,

I can't really answer to this question, but I know that living standards are much more hich in big cities like NY, Washington, SF, LA... It's not really a question of state, but more of cities.
Moreover, if you are looking for some useful information on the cost of living in some big cities in the US, you mught find information on www.gullivearth.com.
