I am considering entering in to a PACs (The Pact Civil de Solidarité) with my French partner. I am trying to find out information about the benefits of doing it, I know that I would qualify for free healthcare in France and also that it frees both of us from inheritance tax and that we are treated as living together as a married couple for income tax purposes but I believe there are other social security benefits associated? Would I for example accrue a French state pension, be entitled to maternity and family benefits as a result of being PACSed even if I myself am not working in France?
I would appreciate any information on this.

Family benefits are depending on where tax is paid by the family (it can be your husband income) is paid. Maternity benefits, linked to your salary, are depending only on the country where you pay tax. Similar for French state pension, nothing to do with Pacs.
However it gives you rights in term of inheritance for example.
