English-speaking friends in Milan

Postby Fabio86 » Tue Aug 31, 2010 8:14 pm

Hello everyone!

My name is Fabio, an italian guy of 24 years of age. I lived in Australia in the last year, now I'm back to Milan and I want to keep talking in English because I would like to practice and improving it, if I don't do it I know that I will forget soon how to speak in English :(

So I'm looking for new friends to spend some time, having a beer, a chat, or whatever we wanna do!

Cheers,
Fabio

I am interested to meet new friends too. I've just arrived Milan last month and I barely have new and foreign friends who speak English. I have gone through other threads but everything was past date. I look forward to meet new friends through this thread. :)

Hi again!

What I have observed here is that online application is not as fast. It usually takes 1-2 weeks before someone gets back to you. Not all of course...but most of them do.

@Mosskito: try googling English-speaking jobs or English language jobs. Job ads are just a click away. But I've read somewhere that Italians are also into networking. Employers prefer referrals than walk-ins. Not sure if true. Good luck in your jobhunting. :)

Thanks,

Cherry

Hi Fabio! Ciao tutti! I've tried attending a social group in Milan and the people are great. If you have an account with Facebook, you can search for AperoNet. They will send invites to members who join their group and everyone will meet up once in a while. People usually speak in English but are from different countries.

Hi Fabio! Yes...and it was great! I met some foreign friends and we just had some chitchats and a few drinks. I don't have a job yet because I just got my Permesso di Soggiorno last Saturday. :)
