Postby JuanCarlos » Wed Aug 08, 2012 12:10 am

Hello. My sister is a naturalized citizen of France. She is 34 and I am 25. Can I move to france from Japan? What kind of documents I am eligible for? Can she sponsor me for a permanent residence card what so ever as it happens in US? Urgent help is very needed/

We recently posted an article that could be a help to you,
"Obtaining a Visa to Live, Study and Work in: Schengen Area"

Family Members

If you hold a residence permit valid for at least one year for a country in the Schengen Area within the EU, you may apply to have your family join you....You must also demonstrate stable and sufficient income to support yourself and your family, along with evidence of health insurance coverage.

Eligible family members include your opposite-sex spouse, your minor children, including adopted children, and any minor children you or your spouse had through a prior relationship, as long as you or your spouse have custody. Other family members who may be eligible to join you include your parents, your spouse's or partner's parents and adult unmarried children unable to care for themselves.

As you are not a dependent and don't fit into the other categories, I don't think you can apply on her visa directly, but she may act as a sponsor for the other types of visa: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/Lex ... 098:EN:NOT . Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks for your message. What types of visa she can act as a sponsor for?
