Looking to rent a room in Gent. I must have sent 50 emails to individuals and landlords but none seem to want to reply.

Could someone suggest a decent enough resource to find a place?

I know of Immoweb but no response from anyone.

If you are looking for flatshare, have you tried with our partner to find a flatshare in Belgium?

If you're referring to Apartager, I've tried that too. But you have to be a Premium member to be able to contact anyone.
Any more tips on finding a cheap/basic place?

Yes. You can also post an ad.

You can also post your own classified.

Do Belgains prefer to deal face to face or phone?

Also what is the deal with Student Kamers? Most landlords/agencies seem reluctant to respond about these. Not sure why.

You're talking about the website studentkamers? Don't know about it except this is in Dutch... maybe the rivalry between French speakers and Dutch/Flemish speakers?
