hello. first of all, thank you (whoever you are) for reading this.
    here is the deal:
i am american. my fiance is english. she is here in america on a student visa and must return to the uk in april, 2011.
i need to be able to go and live/work in england after the schoolyear ends in june/july, 2011 (i am a teacher in the usa).
i have done a bit of looking around and it seems that we could get married legally here before she leaves, then I apply for a spouse visa at the embassy. is that right? if so, we're up for it.
    what are the other options/requirements?
how can we do this with the least amount of headaches?
can we even legally be married in the USA if she is here on a student visa?

a second question for further down the line (if you are still reading, you are awesome): we both have family in our respective countries and are not entirely sure where we will end up. i know for now that we want to live/work in the UK together for at least a couple of years. but after that, can we move to the USA, live together and work?

i am so lost in all of this immigration mess. reading this board shows just how complicated it all is.... THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!

For moving to UK, you have got it right. Once you get married ( I am assuming you are both over 21 ), you can apply for spouse visa. You will have to prove that you have enough money to support yourself and accomodation in the UK in order to get the spouse visa.

US immigration I have no idea of...unfortunately.

    Good luck !

will i need to travel with my wife (to be) to england or can she go first before i go over there?
will i be able to work straight away?
