Once again, Mercer's Quality of Living survey has ranked the world's cities in a game of "Where is the best place to live?". Determined by a combination of factors like cost of living, safety, job opportunities, and transportation, this survey is meant to provide governments and multinational companies helpful information about life in different countries. It also serves as a helpful guide for expats and travellers looking for where to settle down in this great big world.
The survey's ranking of 221 cities has Austria's capital in the top spot, as well as many European cities at the top of the list. Singapore ranked as the highest Asian city at spot 25 with Dubai in first for the Middle East at place 73. Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe ranked best in Central and South America at spot 69, and the city of Baghdad ranked at the bottom.
