    Hi everybody !

I'm looking for a firm or a research center to make my studentship during 5 month, I'm in master of environmental management. I'm learning about law, environmental issue, analyses of biological element...

I wanted to know if some of you made a studentship in the USA in this department ?
I saw, for example, "National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration" in California, on the net, but I don't really know if it's possible to apply... So... if you can answer me or indicate me some program...

    Thanks for reading ;)

You might want to check with universities with departments in your field. Where specifically are you looking?

There are also program that sets up international internships, from visa, to housing, to airfare:

Alliances Abroad (http://www.allianceabroad.com/): offers a program called Career Escape with trainee program in the US. This program is open to university students and recent graduates who want to train in their professional field to gain valuable international experience. Paid positions are available in many fields.
InternAbroad (http://www.internabroad.com): this is a service from GoAbroad.com that provides offers for internship and work abroad.
InternshipsAbroad (http://www.internshipsabroad.com): offers internship opportunities mostly in America.
    http://www.aipt.org,
    http://www.internjobs.com,
    http://www.volunteerabroad.com/listingsp3.cfm

CCUSA (http://www.ccusa.com) requires you to hold a J1 visa. They offer practical training in the United States (maximum is 12-month work placement). Applicants are responsible for finding an employer to offer a training program in one of the approved categories. Once a company is located and the information given to the local CCUSA office in your country,
You are responsible for all flight and travel costs to the USA and all accommodation and living expenses during your stay.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for all this information ! (My professors aren't so nice...).

I was looking near pacific ocean, I would like to have a subject about environmental issues on the coast, find solutions and how set it in motion...

CCUSA is an organization which help to have a visa for example, are they doing the administrative part ? It doesn't seems to be free. I saw they have local office but I'm not sure I have one of them close to me... I'm going to ask...
I was in Canada last year and I had my visa by an association (France-Québec)... it was quicker and easier to pass by them.

    Thanks for your answer !

Unfortunately many of these programs are not free. They arrange for the trip as well as the internship, but at a price. Arranging visas, etc is difficult and many companies hesitate at hiring from abroad.

You can research listings on your own at sites like monster.com or directly with institutes that offer what you are interested in. Do some research int eh area you are looking and find companies you would like to work for, then send them a letter of intent with your resume.

    Best of luck!

    Hi everyone !

I wanted to inform you that I found an internship in San Francisco !!!! From April 1 to August 31 !
BUT... I'm kind of worried about the visa... It's very expensive and I'm not really sure I will have it for the April 1...
People told me that I have to do the paper through an organism (association) to have the visa... I'm not sure about this... if you have informations...

Thanks again for your infos ^^
