My friend is 59 and needs to work to obtain british citizenship and plans to carry on working after. She has been told that her husbands pension will be affected if she works. If she earns £100 her husband will lose £100 from his pension. My friend has been told she can claim benefits but does not want to.

I have heard of this if one part of a couple are claiming benefits and the other obtains work but I am shocked to hear about a pension

    Surely this cannot be right
