    I suggest the following strategy:

    1. First get your CV in perfect shape. To do so it's better if you get professional advice (eg: www.conceptcv.co.uk, www.aandaresume.com, www.impressivecvs.co.uk, etc...);

    2. respond to targeted job adds for which you qualify (find them with www.jobrapido.co.uk, www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com, etc...);

    3. send your CV to many head hunters (eg: www.cvjet.com);

    4. repeat everything (step 2 as many times as possible; steps 1 and 3: once every two or three months).

    Post your results

    Depending on the type of job you are looking for some more targeted websites might be more appropriate.

    For example, for au pair and nanny jobs use an online matching service such as www.search-aupair-family.info. Such sites allow you to create a free online profile so you can directly connect to families worldwide looking for au pairs and nannies.
