    Hello everyone
Im new to this site. I need some help. Im planning to go to Portugal with my wife who is EEA national in September. I've currently got Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National stamp from home office in uk on my passport which is running out on May next year, 2013.

My question is if i need to do the tourist visa to get into Portugal. in the past few years we travelled to Spain, Italy, France and Netherlands with out doing the Schengen Visa and there is no problem at all. However, i Have try to get the information from the Portuguese Embassy website in London but I could not find the information about my situation.

If anyone here know about it, please let know.

    Thank you in advance!!!!

The Expat FAQ has information on visas like the EEA Family Permit. Your Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National should offer you entry.

The Expat guide to Portugal also offers you information about traveling to the country, including visa info.

Anyone have specific advice or experience?

Yes, you do. Having the right to be in the UK doesn't mean you're exempt from visa control to other European countries, so you'll still need a visa.

Oh, you're travelling with your wife? I missed that. That makes a difference.

If she is considered to be travelling around Europe as she is entitled to do in exercising her Treaty rights, then she is entitled to bring her spouse with her, and you wouldn't need a visa. If it's a holiday and you're travelling alone, then you would. But it depends entirely on whether they think that your wife is exercising Treaty rights when she travels.
