    Hello and welcome!

Working as an au pair is a great way to become familiar with another culture, discover life abroad, and/or to practice and improve a foreign language.

What advice would you give to prospective au pairs in France?

How did you find your family? Are you part of an agency? How did you find your agency – by putting up an ad or through word-of-mouth? You may use EasyExpat’s Au Pair listings in France.

How do you like the work and your family? Are you offered pocket money? What tasks are you asked to do – cleaning, cooking, or just childcare? Do you have free time?

What other activities do you like to do? Are you able to make friends? Have you had to learn the language?

Please share your experience with the other forum members. Many thanks in advance! :D

    Hi,

I'm going to be an au-pair in Paris, France and I'd like people to give me advice and maybe answer texkourgan's questions.
I found my au-pair programm on a french website and got to talk and skype with the family several time to be sure it's not a scam.
The tasks I'll have : childcare, cooking for two little boys, cleaning their mess and bring them to school. I have a room in the house.
Also the parents gave me the possibility to take classes in a french teaching school, Paris Langues. They are paying for half of the classes I'll take. If someone has an experience about that school or being an au-pair in Paris, I'd like to hear about it.

    Thank you.
