    Hi,

We are interested by your feedback on the cost of living in Turkey. With Easy Expat we have already a useful tool to compare the cost of living in some major cities in the world.

However we do not cover all the countries, nor all the destination where you can eventually decide to expatriate.

If you live in Turkey, you can help the community and give information about the cost of living in Turkey. You might be able to give indication and comments on the needs:
 Food (what to expect, what to find).
 Accommodation price in Turkey. Rent?
 Transport (public transport but also the necessity and cost of using a car)
 Services (gaz, electricity, telephone, internet...)
    Tax
    Health, Education
    Entertainment (restaurant, cinema, theatre...)
    ... etc.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience with the community

Unless you’re thinking of moving to live in Istanbul, chances are you will find the cost of living in Turkey is incredibly reasonable. Naturally enough the main tourism resorts and big cities have prices on a par with many international hotspots – but away from the madding crowds the day to day cost of living is incredibly affordable.

    Hi,

just to complement the picture in Istanbul, I would moderate a bit the "low cost" of living in Istanbul. Would compare to France, typically restaurants are really cheap! Same for electricity, and confirm the figures given above.
But when it comes to flat rent and cars (biggest part of the budget, unless you go to restaurant every day...), it is very similar to France. (same standing of course). It might be surprising considering min/average salary in Turkey compared to France.

Beside this, life is great here. But if you consider moving to Istanbul, don't rely fully on difference of cost of living. There is one, but limited: 15-20% max.

Hello expatinist and welcome to EasyExpat.com.

Thanks a lot for your message. One of the big burden in some locations (New York, London, Paris...) is the cost of accommodation. Do you have examples on prices (for instance a 2 bedroom flat in the city centre?)
