My partner and I are looking into a UK defacto Visa. And I would like advise from anyone who has been through simialr applications.

We have been together since Mid 2008, and lived together from September 2008 to September 2009.
We have mail at the same address, though as we were not on the lease and bills were paid by the landlord, the only mail we have are things like phone bills, gym memberships, junk mail.

Since September 2009 I have been back in Australia. We have been continuing long distance, with proof of seeing each other. I have been back to the UK and him to Australia.

He will be moving to Australia in May 2012, for 12 months.

By May 2013 we will have been together almost 5 years.

However we will only have 2 years of mail at the same address, and this is not consecutive.

Does the mail at the same address have to be CONSECUTIVE 2 years?

Does it matter if 12 months of this in in Australia?

Do they take into account the fact we have been together for over 4 years, though not living together?

It seems to suggest that you need Bills, Council Tax, Lease, all in joint names.
As well as a joint bank account.

Without these I am wondering if we have a chance?
