    Hello,

my fiance and i have been together for 16 amazing months, and engaged for 4 months. I am kiwi and he is british. I was over in the uk on a working holiday visa but came back to nz before this expired. We have completed our fiance visa application but are just waiting on the bank statements to arrive.

    Two problems:
the last bank statement we're waiting on (bank has taken 3 weeks to send out when they said it would be 5 working days) is dated 12 mar-12 apr. I left the uk on april 22. However since they've taken so long to send (then another 5 days to nz) the statements will now be more than a month old. I read somewhere that bank statements need to have been printed within the last 30 days? Do i need to wait again for the next statement to be sent over or can we print out internet statements for the last 30 days since i'm overseas?

Second problem is that my fiance's bank account is in overdraft. He has a student account that he's had for 7 years. He reduced it from £1500 overdraft to £600 in january and will have got rid of it completely by july. He has been supporting me for the past 6 months as i have not been working (in accordance with my visa) hence the reason he hasn't paid it off sooner. He earns £22k pa. He has no savings but a £10k investment in the business he works for which he can cash in for its face value and i've got £6.5k in shares.
We've written up a budget with our costs showing how he will have the overdraft paid off by july as well as an accompanying letter explaining why it was in overdraft.
Does it look likely that we will succeed with our financial position?

We have all the usual documentation including affidavits from friends, accommodation support, reception venue confirmation, photos of us throughout relationship and photos of home, letters from both of us, his payslips, joint bank a/c letter, share certificates, work confirmation.

I've been in nz for 2 weeks and am suffering withdrawal symptoms. I just want to get back to him as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice given
    x

If you have done your budgeting and you can show that you have enough money for living after paying the rent, loan repaymetns etc, that should be all right. ECO doesn't expect you to be millionaire after all. You should of course, as you mentioned, draw out a budget for them to see and provide a cover letter explaining the financial plan.

The documents you have compiled sound more than enough.

As for the bank statements, if I were you I would provide both the ones you have and print outs from the internet. I am not sure about this one but you can always confirm it with the Bridge Service. Just drop them a short e-mail ( a couple of lines only, don't mention the whole story or you will confuse them ! ) and ask for specific advise. E-mail advise is free so don't waste 14 dollars on calling them.

    Good luck

hi can i ask what is the required amount of support to my fiance in the philipines is??

coz i have a stable 25 to 30 hours a week job that leaves me with 200 to 300 a month left...

but i work in a restaurant that depends on the customers coming and going but we make 25 thousand pounds a week and i make a 100 pounds in tips a month that pays for extra stuff...

My flat is one room with a small kitchen and shower room with a sofa bed ... is it enough to prove that its adequate?

If you can help me with this i would very grateful and appreciative ..

    Thank you for your time!
