    Hey all!

    I'm hoping someone can help me here! Me and my fiancee have known each other for almost 4 yrs, she is from the us and i am from the uk. We are planning to get married at the end of this year and cannot work out how we should approach visas.

    She is currently in the us and will be there until we get married-in the us, we would then want to both come to england immediately. Therefore what can we do visa-wise-is it possible to apply for a spousal visa before we are married-if we apply after then we would have to wait possibly months in separate countries. Do we apply for a fiancee visa and then for a spousal visa-in which case do we have to pay the £644 fee twice?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    The best choice, in my opinion, would be to apply for Spouse visa. It doesn't take months as you said to get it processed. Its all a matter of weeks and even faster in UK consulates in the US since they have an 'express service' available but costs a bit more. You of course have to make sure you submit proper documents.

    You can go for fiance visa as well but that works ONLY if you want to get married in the UK and as you said you will have to pay the fee in both cases.
