    Hello there.
Im a non-eea fanily member, i did apply for my 5 years residency in 2006 my wife was and still self-sufficiant as ive been working non stop for the past 5 years, and when i did apply for the 5 years residency the ho didn't ask me for any insurance, and i didn't have any idea that we need it, otherwise i wouldve done it.
My question is we didnt have comprehensive insurance, for the past 5 years we have the nhs cards, i have to apply for my permanent visa in 2 month time, am i in big trouble? What should i do. Please help

The Home Office is not going to accept NHS cover as Comprehensive Health Insurance and you were supposed to have had it all the way from the begining.

You should get one as soon as possible !

    Good luck

Yes you can. The insurance company doesn't have to be a UK one.

    Good luck
