    Hi Everyone,

My name's Kevin and I'm 21. In May, I'm moving in London with a friend of mine for an undefined time hoping to find a spot over there. I'm currently living in Belgium but I wanna meet new people, discover new things and make another living than the one I used to have. I've already been in the US for a year so I guess English will not be a big deal for me.

I graduated in Marketing Management in a uni in Belgium and I also have a added diploma in Leadership and Management I got in N-Y. I speak French, English, Dutch and I can understand spanish if they don't speak too fast...

I wanted to know if you had any advices for young people like us starting in a whole new and big city such as London. I mean about working at the beginning: starting with a low paid job such as waiter in order to cover my fees or if I should start looking for a better job right from the start... Etc. All you could say would really be helpful!!!!

We'd like to travel by car but parking facilities in Zone 2 are really "restricted" so I'm waiting for some tips for us because we have a lot of things to carry with us.

Thanks in advance for all you could tell us. I'm looking forward for your next answers.

    Kevin

Finding a better job from the begining would be rather hard since the UK employers would ask for work experience in the UK unless you are very lucky. I would start from unskilled jobs as you said.

Trying out over the internet, sending out your CVs to few places would be also be a good idea.

    Good luck

Thanks for you fast answer. I know it's gonna be a lot harder.

Unfortunately I do not have experience in the uk but in the US well since I've been working in one of the biggest companies in the world: Walt Disney World!!!

Do you think it could make a difference?

But yeah i'm already working on my CV. The only point is that I'll just get there around may which is giving me less chances to get an interview mostly if they contact me before that date!

    Re:

I think you just take some better alternatives to know the things better like, try to collect some info about interviews in London that will be beneficial for you.

Or else, I will try to provide some info on this through my cousins who are recently working there.

    Thanks

    Hi there,
Just hoping to see if you have an update on your job search! I'm moving to London soon, and hoping to find a job too. From my research so far, and being there for a week meeting agents, etc., it seems this "UK experience" is a common thing. I have big names on my CV too and tenure, but the weighting of "UK" seems to be important. But since you are a graduate with more or less 1 year experience (which isn't much at all), it could be challenging to fight over entry level roles. But there are opportunities if you can wait from what I gather, and also applying to US companies when you have US experience may also prove to be useful.

Anyways, would greatly appreciate an update (hopefully a happy story), so that we know that there's still hope out there! :)
