The entry clearance allows you to enter, remain and re-enter the UK for a period of two years. Upon entry to the UK you present your passport and entry clearance to the immigration officer who will permit your entry into the UK.

You are able to work in the UK, but will need to obtain a national insurance number.

On the last month of the validity of the entry clearance you will need to apply to the Home Office in the UK for the removal of all condition/restrictions. This will be an application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Once that is approved you are free to remain in the UK without restriction.

You will need to apply for a National
Insurance number but you do not
need to have received your National
Insurance number before you can start
work. You can make an appointment
for a National Insurance number

At the interview you will need to prove
your identity and right to work in the
UK (for example, by providing a
document such as your passport,

Your employer can allow you to start
work, before your National Insurance
number is issued and should deduct
National Insurance contributions.
It may take between six and twelve
weeks after the interview for your
National Insurance card to be issued.
