    hi, i am trying to bring my american girlfriend to europe so we can get married( i am a romanian living in the uk at the moment). she was denied entry into the uk as a tourist even though she had everything she needed... they suspected her because she was too well prepared , called her parents and they told them everything (they hate our relationship). so she was sent back the same day. getting her a marriage/fiancee visa would be very complicated in our situation even though we have enough funds, at least this is what the solicitors have told me.

    i found out that denmark will marry anyone who is legally in the schengen area(more or less vegas style) so all we need now is a way to get a 3 months visitor visa for her. so my question is this: which is the best way to get it? can she get one pre-approved somehow so she won't need to be worried about getting sent back again? are there schengen countries that allow americans in even if they are young women travelling alone? what would be the more laxed ones?

    thank you :)

    if you are British, you could go there, get married and come back together;
    the marriage is any human being right; I strongly, personally, believe that it was an abuse of power and a huge disrespect of your rights to form a family; you should get some legal advice of how to apply againt their decision;
    otherwise, she could become a student here, apply for student visa and marry here; it's your right to get married;
    DON'T GIVE UP AS THE HOME OFFICE IS MISTREATING ROMANIANS MANY TIMES; AFTERALL, DON'T FORGET THAT BRITS ARE STILL NOT ALLOWED TO BY LAND IN ROMANIA AS THEY WOULD HAVE LIKED WITHOUT A VISA; SO AFTER ROMANIA JOINED EU, THEY DIDN'T GET WAHT THEY WANTED, SO HOW COULD A SMALL COUNTRY AS ROMANIA OPPOSE THEIR MAJESTIES; SO THE DISCRIMINATION AND DISINFORMATION AND MISTREATMENT IS CARRYING ON; YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND STAND UP FOR THEM; IT'S NOBODY WHO CAN STAND FOR YOU;
    another choice would be for you to go to Bucharest and apply for a visa to USA and go their as a tourist or as a future groom; as advice from some immigration solicitor;
    good luck

    ask advice from solicitors which are specialised in this matter;
    go for a free of charge consultation for an hour with many solicitors till you feel you found the right guy for you, as many will say they know how, but they would just try to get your money; ask at every session different questions and few the sme to compare the answers and find out how capable they are to sort your mattter out.

    Who needs Schengen visa?

    I do not know, maybe I am missing something. I was just reading yesterday a question at Yahoo Answers where someone was asking whether US citizens need Schengen visa, and all those people were replying "no". Today I found a web site where they have a nice list of countries whose citizens need or not need Schengen visa, see here

    Who needs Schengen visa

    USA has "no" in the column, so US citizens do not need visa to go to the UK, no? But here is a thread about a story with a US citizen being deported because of visa. What am I missing here?
    (Sorry if my question is stupid, I just want to find out as I am doing some research on how the visa works for my friend in Moscow.) Thanks.

    If anyone is still interested...
    A us citizen can enter any eaa state as a visitor without having to get a visa for a limited time! Each state can decide what that time is themselves.i believe in the uk that is 90 days....the same period for which a uk citizen can get visa free entry to the usa. Not only that. Citizens of 'non visa' countries do not need permission to be married in the uk. They can just come here, wait for 7 days, take their passports to any registry office or authorised church,to prove their entry date, give notice of marriage and pay £30. Marriage can take place after a further 15 days.
    However..note well! Getting married in the uk does not mean that the person can stay here. Romania is still and 'accession state' which does not yet have full eu rights for its citizens. A us citizen would have to go back to the usa and apply to the nearest british mission to get back here. A family permit may be granted, depending on the circumstances of the uk-based spouse, but not necessarily so.
    There must be something else in the above case that has not been revealed. The uk does not send back us visitors unless they a) don't have money to support themselves, or b) are undesirables!
