I wouldn't say it's too bad, so long as you just go with it, but if you try and keep your old ways it won't work, but as you said you're adaptable. I think if you're worried you need to live in the UK a while, I'm not sure from your post if you were in the UK or US?

Like most countries it depends which cities you head to. I think if you were from a small town in the US the small towns in the UK are VERY different but the big cities are similar, although people are different. I'd say in friendship circles in the UK people are much politer, they spare people's feelings as much as possible. But in the US sales assistants are much politer because they're on commision, the UK have some of the rudest sales assistants in the world.

Also in the UK you might find that people are more liberal than in small towns in the US.
