Hi all,

I am a British national and my Costa Rican husband has a spouse visa that allows him to work in the UK. He just had an interview for a job in Geneva. The company is very interested, but concerned that he is a Costa Rican citizen. If he is married to an EU citizen (me!), does that mean he can work in any EU country automatically? Or just in the UK?

We have looked all over the place to try to answer this question, but no one (Swiss embassy, Costa Rican embassy, etc.) can help us. Surely this must happen relatively frequently?

i gather that work permits are very difficult to get for non-eu citizens.

looks like i need to get a job in switzerland...hmmmmm!
