    Hi there,
    i found it very useful forum.

    My wife is italian , we married in May 2007. My student visa expired on Octobor 2007 and i didn't knew much so i applied for Student Visa Extension.

    Until now they are holding my passport and i have contacted them through lawyer but they said we need to wait. I don't understand why they are not issuing me student visa.

    Problem is that my Passport is expiring on 3rd march (passport is with home office). and my visa is already expired?

    what should i do now?

    should i apply on EEA2 before 3rd march?

    because pakistani Embassy will not issue me passport until it has valid visa.

    Very worried?

    If you want to apply, you have to do it with a valid passport. Processing times are close to 6 months, so your passport will expire, but you should receive the residence card anyway. I have heard that the residence card is then issued in a separate leaflet, and not as a plaque in your passport, although I have no personal experience.

    That is weird. Obviously you need a new passport, why should they refuse it while your application is under consideration?

    No reason to. Under European law you are safe, and an expired passport is no reason for concern.

    Student Visa

    what about my student visa then?
    also should i apply before 3rd march or not? or should i wait for student visa application to be finished?and wait for its result
