    Hi Everyone,
I'm a Finnish citizen permanently living and working in UK.
I got married 2 weeks ago to my Cuban boyfriend and we
applied for an EEA family permit for him at UK Embassy in Cuba.
As most of Cubans, he never travelled abroad, we applied for a UK tourist
visa for him 2 times last year and both times it was refused on the grounds that they suspect that he might be a potential illegal immigrant.

Now we've got married and I want my husband to join me in the UK.
We submitted the EEA application and the required docs, after that his
fingerprints and a photo were taken, than we were asked to come back
in about 2 hours. After 2 hours waiting he was told to come back
    for an interview next Monday.
I'm really worried about this, so if someone could share their experience
or give an advise on what to expect and how to prepare,we'll greatly
    appreciate this.Many thanks in advance!

Re: EEA family permit interview, what to expect&how to p

Obviously this is a case by case situation. I am Canadian and my husband is the EEA citizen. We were both living in Vienna when I applied for the EEA Family Permit. We had been married for 2.5 years at that time. I had all the required documents with me and they gave me the EEA Family Permit in less than 30 minutes.

I am sure in your case they will want to make sure this isn't a marriage of convenience. Especially if they already suspected him of being an illegal immigrant. Perhaps they will ask detailed questions about your relationship. When the two of you met, where/when did you live together, marriage details, etc.. The more information your husband has the better.

    Best of luck!

    Dear Calgary 72,
thanks for your reply, it was helpful. Indeed, it appears
that the purpose of the interview was mainly to check if the
marriage is genuine. The interview lasted about 20 min and my
husband was asked detailed questions about our relationship,
families, marriage, plans for the future etc. The EEA permit
was then issued on the same day.
