Hello I have quite the dilemma. I am from the US while my partner is from Ireland. Both our countries do not recognize same sex partnerships so we have been unable to live together. We wish to get married and move to Northern Ireland together. I heard many heartbreak stories about spousal/fiancee visas being rejected in the UK, and have been researching about the EEA Family Permit. I also heard that the UK is extremely paranoid about the "marriage of convenience" thing. Since we have been unable to live together due to our countries laws...really our only chance to be together IS to get married (no complaints here on that).

We have plenty of proof (presently and will have as soon as we marry):
    Ticket stubs from visits
    letters written
    dated pictures of us together
support letters from our friends, parents and my employer (all notarized)
    Wedding pictures/video
over 7,000 pages printed MSN Instant messenger chat logs between us (it will be such a pain to print all that out...)
Tags from postal service for gifts sent to each other
    greeting cards
    etc

My biggest concern is them thinking ours is one of convenience and not out of love. In the US, if we HAD gotten married before...she would no longer be able to visit me. She would be turned away at immigration due to "proof of reason she would like to stay in the US". This country is extremely hard on binational same sex couples.

    Is this possible for us?
