    Hi Everyone,

    I posted this topic here before;

    http://www.easyexpat.com/forums/setopic_14235-.html

    Here is my experience,i am Turkish and my wife is Polish. We got married in the summer in Turkey. i came to poland in Augoust and we sorted out our polish marriage certificate and my polish residence card. my card was ready in september 26. I was waiting to go to British consulate in warsaw since october but i have changed my appointment date severel times to collect more documents. so finally i went yesterday . By the way, my wife is in Uk,working, since 1st September. she has visited me almost every month.

    i had the full application form, my passport, my wifes certified copy of passport along with her visas to come to turkey and her new polish id card with her new marrige surname certified copies with the polish notary, our marrige certificates (polish and Turkish,also the translation to the turkish one), me and wife has an shared bank accound in poland we changed the account 3 weeks ago into a shared account so i took letter from bank saying its a shared account and the bank statement,my bank account card, my wifes Uk bank statements, wifes work contract and a letter from the employer saying she is employed there full time and permenantly, becouse my wife is polish i had her working registration certificate and card,my wifes payslips, and i had her house tenancy contract, our marrige and daily normal pictures together and with friends relatives,my wifes and my birth certificates, my polish residence card, a letter from my wife, i wrote a letter as well but they gave it back to me so i guess that doesnt matter, i printed 8 emails from past and near along with printed inbox of our email accounts (i highlighted the emails we sent to each other on the printed email accounts inbox.). our letters to each other and letters or postcards from friends and relatives, any document that can prove that you lived together(i found 1 document only which was sent to my wife with DHL from her mother to Turkey when we were living together), i printed the confirmation emails from the airline companies to show that she was coming to poland while im here. i guess that was all. :)

    i took copy of each document . they want to see the original documents if u give them only copies of them so take the original and copies of the documents. the only copy they didnt take was my passports. other than that was taken and original documents was returned to me at the end.

    my appointment was at 9 ,i was there 30 mins b4 and i checked in the building and waited my name to be called, so i was called and i hand everything to the officer(she was really nice lady) she looked at what documents i had there and seperated the copies and originals at a side and the only thing she asked me is ;are you applying for eea family permit?, i said yes to join my wife in the UK. and she took my fingerprint scans, gave me a paper and said please sit down and wait now. i waited about 20-30 mins and a man called my name and gave a paper with my name written on, date and time of decition. so he said come back at 2 oclock to pick up your decition. so i went out around 9.45 and had breakfast went back to consulate at 2 with that paper and they gave my passport with my EEA Family permit in it without a question. the good part is also on my application form i wrote down i want to travel to Uk on the 15 th of December 2007 thinking they will interview me another day and they might want time to give me my passport, but they gave me the same day and the permit starts from the day they gave it to me, which is yesterday. Brilliant.

    i guess all you gave to do is be honest and provide anything you can. most important is that love your wife/husband and the rest is easy. we have waited so long for this and the day has come. now im going to Uk on the 4th and will begin harder situation with everyones night mare, THE HOME OFFICE!!!!!
    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

    [formatting edited by thsths: I understand your enthusiasm, but it was a bit difficult to read]

    Same situation!!!

    This is the exact situation that we will be passing. My wife is Polish, and m a Non-EEA national. We got married in October in my home country. But we were living together in Malta for some time together before.

    Now, I am waiting for my residence card. My wife has a job offer and is thinking to go to UK later this month.

    I would like to ask, how long will it take to get Polish Residence Card after application?

    With this EEA Family Permit, do my wife have to come back to Poland to go to UK together with me or I can go alone? I am confused coz in a lot of places I have seen EEA Family Permit only applies if you are travelling together with your spouse.

    Re: Same situation!!!

    You can travel alone. There is no need for your spouse to accompany you. The only *advantage* of traveling with your spouse is that you can join the 'UK/EEA' queue at the immigration desk rather than 'All Passports' queue.
