    Do you think a washing machine that I bought in France would be usable in the UK?

    Yes of course... for the plug you will have to use a standard adaptor but the rest is pretty standard. But be careful, it is very rare to find a flat where there is no utilisties. Even unfurnished flats come usually with kitchen and bathroom equiped.
