Hi,anyone out there who can advise me.I am living in Chengdu, and have been married for nearly two years.MY wife sleeps in the other room, shows no affection towards me,and has not even given me a peck on the cheek for months, she has told me how important my money is to her,and on the strength of that invited her 23 year old son to return home and move in.I have of course met someone else over twelve months ago,who neither needs or asks for money. She and I wish to get married in the future,do I have sufficient grounds for a divorce as there is no emmotions between the wife and I,I have a fair monthly income and asked her how much for a divorce,I made an offer but she said that is so small, considering she was only getting 300 rmb a month I thought my offer was good, however I am not prepared to be generous any more.My other problem being that my current visa expires early in November, should I be able to divorce before that date, would I be able to get an extension to remarry and remain in chengdu, and would I need an English speaking solicitor to assist,as my wife is reluctant to let go of her new found wealth..........N.S.Miles

Where are you from? Are you a Chinese? Probably not if you got ripped off by your wife. Gee, divorce her if you're not even a Chinese. There has to be some legal protection. Go to your country's embassy or consulate and ask for a lawyer. Or just hire a Chinese lawyer. What do you do for a living? Chengdu is a nice place. Nice food.
