Having just got two pet passports for our cats I suggest you start process sooner rather than later. Sometimes more than one attempt is require for rabies vacc, each takes two weeks to come back from labs. Once succesfully vacc you just need the vacc on the right date each year.

 

it a bit difficult but you should start the procedures over six months before hand, and it is better to drive there than fly (much less hastle)
