    Hi All!

I understand this is a confusing post topic. So please let me explain. I have a fiance who is Polish working in ITALY in a very good job therefore she has Italian residence. I myself, am a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering in Italy and we live together. We are planning to marry soon. So I was wondering, what would be better? Marry in Italy or Poland?

The point is, that we will be remaining in italy for some time because of her work in a good company, and I have the oppertunity to work in Italy after my studies (in 2 years time). So, this leads to the question:

marrying her in Italy, would that be useful to get permanent resident in italy as well? (right now i have residence, but as a student of course)

Or should we just marry in Poland, and her being a resident in italy give me some rights as well? (she prefers we marry in Poland as she has family there :) )

After all, we would like to settle maybe in ireland or England (as we both have family there and really prefer the Irish as they are the friendliest in the world :) ) So what would help for that? (for me to get a job in ireland)
Any help on the immigration rights and laws in italy and poland and Ireland would be very welcome! thanks!

Oh.. Just an after thought after going through the topics here.. am I to apply for an EU dependent permit? does that work in all europe even if:
    1. I am married to a Pole.
    2. Really dont need to be dependent on her for a living, as I make enough myself. :)
How does being an EU Depended work? erm.. maybe a website that you know of, or what rights I would have then :)

    THANKS AGAIN!!!

Your fiancee is Polish -- she and probably you as her spouse can live anywhere in the EU. (My husand and I are just completing two and one-half years in Ireland, and it is a great place to live.)

Haven't a clue what difference it makes what country you get married in --but find out from any Polish counsulate the status of yourself as spouse of a Polish national.
