I am moving to Montreal and have an Irish phone (NOKIA 6230).
I bought it without contract. The last time I was in Montreal the only network I could find was ROGERS.
I met a guy with the same phone from Czech Republic and he seemd to get other service providers.
Why is my phone different? Will I be restricted to buying a SIM card from ROGERS when I get there next month?

    Any advice on service providers?

Actually, Rogers is a fairly common wireless/cable company in Canada. You could easily purchase another phone so long as it is triple band, it should work pretty much anywhere. But, if you are "moving" to Canada, then I'd suggest getting a proper mobile from there ^_^
