✎ EN UK residence permit vs. UK permanent residence

    what's the difference? what benefits do I get as a UK permanent resident that I don't get with a UK residence permit?

    All of that is a question of tax, if you get money from aborad. If you are resident but not domiciled (actually if your are not British, you are certainly not domiciled), your are only taxed on the income that you earn and spend in Britain.
    For non ordinary resident (first 3 years in Britain) you can have some possibility to relocate offshore some of your income (your Bank can give you some advice).

    PS: I moved the message to everyday life as I think it's more related to a tax question for foreigners than to immigration.

    Which ones can I relocate the fisrst 3 years? Those earned in Britain or those from abroad? Both maybe? I'm British although not an ordinary resident, but will move to UK in March.

    I think that at the begining some european working in England can get part of their salary offshore (Jersey or Guernsey or Isle of Mann for example) and avoid some tax. But again I am not a tax advisor, so you better see one (or your banker in England) to get more information.
