    Hi Guys

I am a UK National currently living in Houston TX, USA and I have been offered a relocation to Milan. I have no idea what the cost of living is in Milan and also the type/price of accomodation. The offer would cover the cost of housing but what styles are there available for a family of 4 (two small children)
If I am earniung say 50,000 UK pounds and there is a 10% uplift and the contract is "all found" would this be enough?

Any comments or help anyone can give would be fantastic as I really know nothing about Milan.. Is there a British community there of any sort?

    Hi,
You will find a calculator to compare the cost of living on EasyExpat.

You will find also some help for accommodation on our Milan section.

About the British Community... it's on EasyExpat of course! ;-) I advise you also to have a look around the International Schools where you will find expatriates to talk with and get information.

    Good luck

Hi!! I live in milan, so i could give u some useful advice!! in milan the cost of housing is very high, but i read u won't pay it, so u'll save much money. i think the salary u're gonna earn is enough for a family of four members and it'll let u enjoy the cultural life and the other things milan offers to its citizens. in milan there are lots of british people, so it won't be hard finding people from your country, just to keep in touch with your origins, ahah! bye, and good luck!

bear in mind, yes property is expensive in milan, but commuting is good and you can find great property at a good price in the towns around milan. pull out the map and check north of milan, then you have the beauty of the lakes for the weekend. the international school is in varese.

i am a student in canada and will be starting university next year, however i would love to move to milan to go to university and after. I plan to move there in the summer but start school in the spring term to use the first months i am there to get settled in and used to the culture. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to find an apartment in milan or just outside of milan before i leave because it would be much easier to go there with a place to stay. Also, if anyone knows the average cost of rent/month that would be helpful.
